Westin Luxury by LAX?
It is a Westin and that used to mean to me high end, however this Westin falls short.
The hotel is nicely located by Los Angeles International Airport or LAX for short. It was competitively priced compared to other Marriott properties. At $140 per night (pre-paid rate) it was an good but not great value. The room was clean and comfortable. The part that was a surprise to me was there was no robe, slippers or other such amenities that would normally be present. It is well understood that this is an airport hotel, but if you want the brand to mean something make it consistent. Best thing would be to just name it an AC Hotel or similar level property and call it a day.
The Capitol Grill was good for breakfast the omelet was tasty although the toast came luke warm with cold butter. Price was $19 which is normal for LA and a hotel restaurant.
The good:
- Comfortable and clean (on the inside)
- Nice shampoo and soaps
- Comfortable bed
- USB A and C in multiple places to power my phone, iPad and even my M1 macbook pro.
- Airport shuttle service
The bad:
- Noisy if your room faces Century Blvd while the airport is busy
- Nice but still not as good as other Westins I have been to, even though this was recently remodeled per the web site.
- Scant amenities for a supposedly luxury brand
The ugly:
- Noisy if your room faces Century Blvd while the airport is busy
