My home in Den Haag

Den Haag has a special place in my heart. It is where my father is from and I still have family there which makes it feel very much like being home.

It is a really old city and while smaller than its big brother Amsterdam it is every bit as charming and metropolitan and not nearly as full of tourists as Amsterdam. That said in the summer there is no avoiding tourists but it will still be better than Amsterdam. There are many museums and culinary delights for every taste. Shopping is extraordinary, having many streets of boutique stores for those that like to browse. There are many historically significant locations in dutch history and is the location of the peace palace and international court.

Den Haag is also centrally located near Delft and Gouda which are quintessential to visiting the Netherlands. The beach down of Scheiveningen is a suburb of Den Haag and fun to visit.

Train travel is easy in Den Haag with several stations the largest being Den Haag Centraal and Den Haag Hollands Spoor. From these locations all of the Netherlands and Europe are accessible.

Den Haag is less about 40 mins from Schipol (AMS) or Rotterdam (???) by train.
